Here comes the sun? Yes? No?

I started coiling a basket back in October – November 2020 to help tide me over the long, dark Midwestern winter.

As with many crafts, it’s a study in Be Here Now.

As soon as I don’t pay attention (what am I going to make for dinner tonight? do I really have to do laundry today’? or do have enough clean undies in my drawer? no, my car warranty is not about to expire!!), I mess up a coil or 2 or 3.

Spring will be here soon (OK, well, the calendar will say so, mother nature has different designs in mind.) so maybe I’ll finishing up the basket soon.

Or maybe I won’t ? Who knows! Stay tuned to see  it when I finish!

Happy International Women’s Day

Happy International Women’s Day to every single amazing women goddess in the world!
(Even if you doubt yourself, just know that, YES, you are significant!)

Purple is one of the colors of International Woman’s Day. It stands for JUSTICE and DIGNITY.

Raise you hand high to call out inequality, harmful gender stereotypes and biases.

 International Women’s Day
White is one of the colors of International Woman’s Day. It stands for PURITY. This whole “purity” business can be misconstrued in an old-fashioned patriarchal way, that is, meaning virginity. That ridiculous idea that a woman’s “purity” is equal to her “virginity” is such an outdated and yuck-o notion. And precisely, we are here today to call out these harmful stereotypes that have kept women oppressed for decades.
I prefer to think of “purity” as meaning “true”, that is, “being true to one’s ideals”. Right?!? So let’s all raise our hands to OUR TRUTH!

 International Woman's Day

Green is one of the colors of International Woman’s Day.
It stands for HOPE.

HOPE for true gender equality in the near future.
HOPE for a better laws and living conditions for ALL women, whether they are rich or poor, live in a developed country or in a poor, under-served community. We’ve come a long way, even within my own lifetime (my mom had to get permission from my dad when I was a kid to open her own bank account…seriously?!). And Saudi women just recently got legal rights to be able to drive a car! Obviously, we still have a loooong way to go.

Beautiful @verdantfaerie is pictured above. Who better than her to represent the color both the color green and the concept of hope!
