Hello My Goddess!
Linen clothes are great for hot Chicago summers.
And for hot days by the Mediterranean.
Especially while people watching at a corner café.
And for hot days in Bali.
Especially while visiting temples and browsing artisan shops.
And for hot days in Arizona.
Especially while sipping a crisp glass of white wine and giggling on a sunny afternoon with your bff.
But now’s it’s getting chillier. And he days are getting shorter.
Can I still wear linen in the fall?
Short answer: YES!
How?
Here’s how I do it:
If it still feels like summer even if the calendar says October, here’s one of my favorite combos:
Linen high-waist-wide-leg pants with a funky black T-shirt.
(Here’s the moment to pull out that great vintage T-shirt or that one you got from the art museum gift shop.)
Instead of my good ol’ Birkenstocks or my fav lilac Converse low-tops, I switch to my old black suede boots. Because, hey, it’s supposed to be fall, right?
Presto!
Or I choose a different color pants (hot bubblegum pink linen!) and switch up the bag, belt and shoes. And voilà!
Same concept, different look!
Note that I’m not one to go out and buy new clothes all the time so I try to create these “new” outfits with what I already own: a mix of linen , vintage, and handmade clothes.
Who said fall colors have to be browns??
If I need long sleeves, then I just pop on my linen duster wrap jacket. In a different color because I never get tired of the color-block look.
A bestie gave me the most beautiful silk scarf a few years ago and turns out that it’s perfect with my outfit. I like the way it picks up the pinkish raspberry hues of the pants.
My boots? My trusty glittery blue suede docs, of course! (Kinda hard to see in the photo but yep, they’re there!)
Whaddya think?
