I feared for the worst.
I feared that civil war would break out.
Civil war did not break out.
Yet 400,000 human lives lost in less than one year for no other reason than sheer stupidity, mismanagement, incompetance….WOW.
All the lies, the nonsense, the conspiracies…WOW, just WOW.
How???? How can that happen?(Yes, I’ve read all the “theories of How” but, but, but I still say to myself, “How? No! Wow!”)
And then just when we thought we could allow light and hope into our lives, Jan. 6th “happened”.
I still have no words for that event.
Trauma takes a long time to process.
Our collective trauma has not yet been processed.
Among the more heart-warming days were the Women’s Marches.
While I did not go to Washington DC, I did attend the marches in Chicago in 2017 and 2018. We learned to be fighters, resisters, we learned about our government. We learned that by working together, in Rosie’s words, “WE CAN!”
